CI Workshop: 'Words...and such'

Updated: Aug 3, 2019

The Contemporary Issues (CI) Ministry seeks to provide youths with the right theological foundation and encourage them to think in a godlier way about contemporary issues and life, mainly through workshops. Over the past few years, we have tackled topics like BGR, LGBT, ethics/ worldviews and media influence in our workshops. Each workshop is designed from scratch by our C.I. Ministry team comprising Mr Jeremiah Singh, Mr Ephraim Loh, Ms Felicia Tai and Ms Emma Yong.

Together, they research and discuss the issues in detail, gather and re-package content into workshop series, and finally lead these workshops, taking care to ensure that content in not only passed on, but principles are drawn out and explored through scenario-based exercises.

This year’s workshop aims to get youths to be more aware of the various things they face talking to their friends or even on social media.

‘Words... and such’ will take place on 8th and 15th July during services, and youths will be involved in activities and discussions as they explore how words can hold different meanings in different contexts and how all this comes into play on social media, where context, tone and body language is stripped away.
